  • Our idea a scam is a deliberate attempt to give a person misleading information to deceive them. A common example is telling someone that they can get something for free then asking them for their credit card number. An obvious scam. this often happens in hopes of someone forgetting to cancel a subscription to  a magazine or a greeting card use.

  • There are a number of cases where a scamming company promises  some free medical device, all the time billing Medicare for the device. No cost to the person but profit from Medicare for an item never  wanted by the consumer. This practice is Medicare fraud and can be reported to Cove, Committee on Vermont Elders.

  • Another scam has been reported in this manner: Someone gets an email form USPS saying they have a package for you that they can't deliver. They want personal information so they can deliver it. Big Scam!

  • Another problem arises on the internet. When looking for info on the weather you may find a site called "myweatherradar.com". This site will bombard you with advertising, all sorts of types, which have nothing to do with weather. Annoying and dishonest to  the max.

  •  Another site that bombards you with unrelated advertising is called medicaid-guide.copush.com. Little to do with medicaid but tons of unwanted advertising.

  • Keep your eye out updates.
